Urban Decay All Nighter vs NYX Setting Spray
I've been a fan of both brands for years now, yet have yet to try a full spectrum of products. The two that have most impressed me from Urban Decay and NYX are their setting sprays. Years ago I ordered the All Nighter because it seemed to be ideal for oily skin and specifically for a night out. NYX is a cult favourite from the drugstore and I was curious to see how well this would hold my makeup.
Read below to see my in-depth thoughts:
The All Nighter retails for about £22. This comes in a number of variations but this one seemed the best as it is oil free. This is also a collaboration with Skindinavia, a fabulous skincare brand. I love how this disperses very evenly over the face and it dries almost instantly.
My makeup feels totally set in place and it has a slightly drying effect on the face but matte. The temperature control and skincare ingredients surely add to the product but I've not seen a huge difference in my skin. What I have noticed is my pores look smaller and the makeup doesnt transfer as easily. So I don't really need to re-powder during the night, it is definitely worth shelling out on if you have the cash!
Next is the NYX Matte Finish Spray. This retails for a fraction of the price at just £7. This is a pretty safe brand to reach for, and it's worth buying if you're in the market for a new setting spray. The best part of the product is the after-effect on your makeup. My foundation looks totally matte and set in place once sprayed.
It is a little watery so don't overdo it, but overall it has a similar finish to Urban Decay. If you want a cheaper dupe of UD but something suitable for oily skin - this is the one for you.
