2016 Drugstore Favourites | Lips & Face Edition

As the year is coming to a very, very quick close, I thought a round up post of all my favourite was in order. I'm sure we've all added to our holy grail lists, and also our never, ever, ever again lists (or ex boyfriends as Taylor Swift would call them).

Today I have all my face, brow and lip products that I adore and would repurchase from affordable brands. I will also be doing a big video of luxury products if you would like to see those! I've managed to narrow the products down, and these are all things I discovered this year.

The powders I've been dying over are Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts baked blush which you'll see in a minute has the most gorgeous sparkle to the three toned shades. This is ideal for a sexy glow to the skin, as the sun hits the high points of your face. In the right lighting this can look very natural and adds a warm glow, without looking orange.
Next is the Makeup Revolution Radiant Light highlighter which is a perfect ABH dupe, and would suit any skin tone. It has a slight pink undertone so could also work as a light blush but I find it works best dusted lightly with a fan brush across the face. The pigment is beautiful, and there are no glitter particles in sight so it blends into your skin and powder perfectly.

This lipstick is by Rimmel, and has been featured in many of my tutorials. It has a very bright, warm pink tone and could almost be a red in certain lighting. The texture is what sells me, this retails for less than £6 (often on offer at Boots) and glides on seamlessly. The scent is a little strong, but nothing unpleasant and the creamy texture means it lasts longer and can easily be blended out with a lip liner or gloss to last even longer. This is Latino 200 and is part of the moisture renew collection.

The rest are pictured above - NYX Butter Gloss, now available in the UK so of course I'll be picking up lots more! These have the prettiest nude shades I've seen in a while, and all look natural but opaque at the same time. Because they are so 'buttery' a little goes a long way and they don't look caked up the way some glosses do if you apply too much. When they fade, the colour stays so you also don't get those gross lines on your lips.
Rimmel Stay Matte needs no introduction, and is the best pressed powder from a drugstore as it lasts for hours and when it fades, it kind of seeps into your pores rather than just sitting on the top of your skin.
Max Factor Pink Petal liner is also very creamy, would go perfectly with NYX Butter Gloss, and blends out smoothly so you get an even line when overlining. So many liners either smudge too easily or aren't smooth enough to overline without turning into Kylie Jenner.
Soap and Glory Arch de Triumph is also amazing for quick filling in of the brows, and comes with a highlighter so on-the-go application is a lot easier. You can't really go wrong with this one, a light application fills them in quickly and looks natural. You won't get that fake drawn on look, and lengthening the ends is easy as the texture is a little drier than others. This means that you can use small strokes and not end up with a huge line across your brow!

Have you tried any of these?

xoxo
