3 Ways To Feel Happier Now

It took me a long time to reach a place where I truly knew what inner peace felt like, and how exactly to feel happy. This might sound weird, but often times we hand our happiness over to others - forcing others to give us fulfilment or give us motivation. 

I want to share with you guys my top three tips on how to take back your happiness and be in control of your mood,

1. Write a list

I write a gratitude list everyday - whether it be mentally or physically. This is something you can do right after you finish reading this post if you want. Nowadays my mood is stabilised in being more uplifted, whereas in the past one little thing could ruin my entire day...even at 7am. There are some great apps I can write a post on that help with these lists. I usually focus on my goals that I want to achieve e.g - I am grateful for my health and fitness levels if I plan on exercising more. Realising just how many great things you have in your life instantly lifts the spirit.

2. Pamper yourself

This is mostly for girls, but whatever time you have right now, do something for yourself. It's easy to get lost in the day but if you don't run the day, the day will run you. Paint your nails, or try that new body lotion you bought. Listen to your favourite album, or book a massage. Taking care of yourself goes hand in hand with loving yourself, and that's the first step in feeling happier in life. I love taking bubble baths in the evening, and it's a bit of time I devote entirely for myself.

3. Laugh

Laughter is scientifically proven to improve your mood, and everyone needs a bit of fun in their daily life. Chat with one of your funnier, witty friends. You'd be surprised what a good chat or even heart to heart with a close friend can do for you. You'll get advice on whatever is bugging you at that moment and can reminisce on a funny memory. This will relieve stress in the long run, and bring you back to the present moment rather than feeling down because of something that happened a few days ago.
