Powder Foundation?! | Soap & Glory Review
A few days ago I decided to try out Soap and Glory's new foundation One Heck of a Blot. I bought this in Boots for £10 as the reviews weren't horrendous, and the description was intriguing.
This is basically a silky liquid formula, which sets to powder and matte once applied. I've only ever tried mousses so this was definitely an interesting concept. Let's see if it's any good...
The packaging is of course great, Soap and Glory always add a dramatic flair to their labels which personally I love. The more instagrammable, the better!
The next best thing is the pump, I hated having to pour out my Double Wear foundation, so the control of a pump is better for layering and slowly adding more product.
I didn't prime to get a real feel for the foundation, and with one thick-ish layer, my skin was covered well. The powder formula is visible as it's very mattifying, but after a few hours you really should powder your face. It is a thin consistency, but not runny which means it looks natural and is buildable.
This is a little swatch for you guys, a big dollop would cover one cheek for me, and I only had to conceal larger acne scarring on my face. Rubbed in it doesn't transfer, but I would set it if you don't want anything smudging throughout the day.
Overall I would give it an 8/10. Primer + a good moisturiser would probably mean this could work for any skin type so let me know if you try this out!
